FACT@VCU - photo and video production

Filipino Americans Coming Together @ VCU (or FACT@VCU) is a non-profit student organization which I was very active in during my years in undergrad. The community gave me the opportunity to serve as a leader in my community and exercise my creative muscles in unique ways outside of my major. This work included recaps that highlighted moments within the organizational, promotional material for our events, and more.

As a multifaceted creator within FACT, I was tasked with creating video content that helped in capturing the exciting activities that FACT helped to facilitate. Take a look!

Photoshoots

Assisting in creative direction for photoshoots for the organization was another crucial role I filled. These photoshoots would go on to be used amongst the leaders of our organization as professional headshots or as promotional material for the organization.

Formal photoshoot

A sample of our formal photoshoot featuring the executive board and council of leaders for FACT@VCU at the VMFA. The shoot was inspired by “boujee” magazines, like Vogue, aiming to showcase the leaders of the organization in formalwear.

barrio fiesta

One of FACT’s many large-scale events includes a Barrio Fiesta, which roughly translates to “neighborhood party.” It is a celebration of community and Filipino culture that is held by FACT@VCU annually with a different theme each year. In 2024, the theme was Festival of Colors, which was centered around the symbolism of the colors on the flag of the Philippines. To showcase this, the shoot was heavily focused on reds, blues, and yellowss
